Moscow, July 31 /Xinhua/ — By mid-2026, there were 3.43 million Chinese brand passenger cars in Russia, thus the share of Chinese cars in the Russian vehicle fleet exceeded 7 percent. This was reported on Friday by the analytical agency “Avtostat”.

“Agency experts note that “Chinese” cars account for 7.2 percent of the total number of passenger cars in Russia. In other words, almost every fourteenth car belongs to a Chinese brand,” the statement published on the agency’s website says.

It is noted that the most common Chinese car brand in Russia is Haval, which accounts for 20 percent of all registered Chinese cars. In quantity, this amounts to 690.2 thousand units. The second place in this indicator is held by Chery /662.5 thousand units/, and the third by Geely /576 thousand units/.

Changan and Lifan also made it to the top 5 /270.9 thousand and 151.3 thousand units, respectively/. Three more Chinese auto brands — Great Wall, Exeed, and Omoda — exceeded the 100 thousand mark.
