Silver and bronze medals from the Aurora Combat Robotics Championship international tournament have added to Polytech’s collection of awards. CML-team The advanced engineering school of SPbPU “Digital Engineering” successfully performed at the international Aurora Combat Robotics Championship in Guangzhou (China).
Polytech engineers presented four combat robots:
- “Fenёk” and “Mini-Laska” — category 454 g;
- “Walrus” and “Weasel” — category 1.5 kg.
At the end of the competition in the under 454 grams category, “Fenek” took 2nd place (robot curator Darya Kuathina), “Mini-Laska” took 3rd place (robot curator Vsevolod Bolshakov).
The matches became especially spectacular when the collisions were so powerful that the organizers had to stop the fights several times due to the robots catching fire. The machines of the CML-team bore the tests with dignity, demonstrating high reliability and quality of engineering solutions.
One of the brightest events of the championship was the friendly match Russia — China, where our country was represented, among others, by the robots “Walrus” and “Weasel.” After a series of battles, the Russian team emerged victorious.
In addition, the developments of PIPE SPbPU received special awards for the most creative engineering solution in both weight categories simultaneously.
Chinese colleagues and judges highly appreciated not only the technical characteristics of our robots but also their original design.
