Representatives of the State University of Management, the A.I. Meshcheryakov Family Center, and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education discussed joint educational programs for participants of the special military operation, methods of adapting military personnel, and organizing a sports competition at the Center.
On July 30, a working group from the State University of Management, led by Vice-Rector Maria Karelina, met with Sergey Zakharov, director of the A.I. Meshcheryakov Family Center, and his deputy for the rehabilitation of participants in the Special Military Operation, Anna Fomina. At the invitation of the State University of Management, Viktoria Lazareva, head of the statistics monitoring department of the Department for Coordination of Educational Organizations’ Activities of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, participated in the meeting.
The GUU team spoke about the progress of the project for the readaptation, training, and employment of participants of the special military operation, which was launched in spring 2026 at the Center. To date, the first pilot cohort of the “Basics of Prompt Engineering” program has been successfully completed, and the course on fundamentals of UAV management, developed by GUU scientists, is ongoing. Furthermore, a series of lectures on financial security was organized for the Center’s wards with the involvement of the university’s faculty members.
In the continuation of the project implementation, the parties discussed the launch of two new advanced training programs: “Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Operator: operation, piloting, and applied use” and “CNC Machine Operator.”
In addition, the meeting reviewed the formation of individual educational trajectories for participants in the special military operation who have applied to GUU for bachelor’s degree programs, as well as issues of academic mobility and the training of highly qualified research personnel among the participants in the special military operation. Special attention was paid to the implementation of psychological assistance and social adaptation programs for military personnel into the educational process.
Another topic for discussion was the organization of a sports event at the A.I. Meshcheryakov Family Center for students of GUU and partner universities, as well as veterans of the special military operation undergoing rehabilitation. The Center’s staff familiarized the GUU representatives with the sports infrastructure and outlined a plan of work to prepare for the event, which is planned to take place in the fall.
Recall that in April 2026, the State University of Management (GUU) and the A.I. Meshcheryakov Family Center signed a cooperation agreement, and our university became the initiator of the project “Development of an organizational and methodological model for the rehabilitation, support in education and employment of individuals participating in the special military operation, including those who became disabled during combat, as well as psychological support and resocialization of the families of special military operation participants, their close ones and relatives.”
