Approximately 25 million transactions are recorded daily in the capital’s ticketing system — these include fare payments and transportation card top-ups. Thanks to modern digital solutions, it provides fast, reliable, and convenient payments for millions of urban transport passengers.

Today, the ticketing system based on the “Troika” card has become one of the most technologically advanced transport services in the world. It allows payment for travel on all types of urban transport, provides the possibility to transfer for free between different types of transport within the current tariffs, and ensures passage through turnstiles and trip validation in fractions of a second.

The ticketing system based on the ‘Troika’ card is already used in 34 regions of Russia, and the data storage volume of the capital’s ticketing system is comparable to the data centers of the largest credit organizations in the country. This allows processing millions of operations daily while maintaining high speed and reliability of operation.

The “Troika” card was launched in Moscow in 2013. It became the first unified transport card in Russia, combining fare payment across different types of transport. Since then, more than 54 million cards have been issued, and the system itself has become an industry standard and the foundation for the development of modern ticketing solutions in the country’s regions.

“The “Troika” card has become the basis of the capital’s ticketing system. It has become possible to store subscriptions or pay for travel using the balance of the “Wallet” ticket. And the Moscow ticketing system SberTroika, based on our card, is available to residents of more than 27 regions. Following the task set by Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, we will continue to develop existing and implement new ticketing solutions in the interests of passengers,” added Maksim Liksutov.
