Tehran, April 9 /Xinhua/ — Iran on Thursday proposed two alternative routes for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, citing the danger associated with sea mines in some sections of this important waterway.

“All vessels intending to pass through the Strait of Hormuz are advised to choose alternative routes of movement to ensure safety at sea and avoid collisions with mines,” the statement from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), distributed by local media, says.

Earlier, Iran agreed to temporarily reopen the Strait of Hormuz as part of a two-week truce.
