San Francisco, July 27 /Xinhua/ — Two people died and five were injured in a shooting on Sunday evening at the cultural space “Seattle Center,” where the gastronomic festival Bite of Seattle was taking place. Local authorities reported this.
According to information from the Seattle Fire Department, two people died at the scene. Four others — a two-year-old boy, a 23-year-old man, and two women — were taken to Harborview Medical Center.
A 40-year-old woman with minor injuries received medical assistance at the scene and refused transport to the hospital.
At the Harborview Medical Center, it was reported that one woman is in critical condition and undergoing surgery; the condition of the other hospitalized patients is assessed as satisfactory.
Immediately after the shooting, police and emergency services arrived at the scene and evacuated people from the area. Authorities asked residents to avoid visiting the Seattle Center during the investigation.
