Beijing, July 27 /Xinhua/ — From 2026 to 2030, China intends to explore opportunities to improve the regulatory framework for the education of persons with disabilities and guardianship of adults, Cheng Kai, chairman of the All-China Federation of Disabled Persons, said on Monday.
He made this statement at a press conference dedicated to the country’s plan for protecting and developing the rights of people with disabilities for the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030).
According to Chen Kai, China will also amend the PRC Law on the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and will promote the adoption of regulations by local authorities to implement the PRC Law on the Creation of a Barrier-Free Environment.
Currently, there are more than 110 laws, over 70 administrative regulations, and more than 90 local regulations in China that contain provisions for protecting the rights and interests of people with disabilities.
