Beijing, July 25 /Xinhua/ — The State Administration for Market Regulation of China announced on Saturday the imposition of administrative sanctions on the country’s leading online travel platform Ctrip for abusing its dominant market position and violating the country’s antitrust laws.
As noted in the regulator’s statement, a decision was made to confiscate 1.658 billion yuan /approximately 244 million USD/ of income obtained by the company in violation of the law, and to impose a fine of 3.521 billion yuan on it.
