Harbin, July 23 /Xinhua/ — A solemn meeting dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between the PRC and the Russian Federation was held on Wednesday in Harbin city, Heilongjiang Province /Northeastern China/.
According to the event participants, China-Russia relations have become a cornerstone of stability in today’s turbulent world. They expressed hope that both sides will strengthen political mutual trust, promote the development of mutually beneficial cooperation, facilitate deepening mutual understanding between peoples, and develop higher-quality international cooperation with the aim of fostering high-quality development of interstate relations.
Being at a new historic starting point, both sides must continue moving forward hand in hand, continuing to promote the deepening and development of bilateral relations at a higher level, in order to make an even greater contribution to strengthening the friendship passed down from generation to generation between the two countries, supporting the development and rise of both states, as well as protecting international justice and impartiality, said the participants of the event.
About 500 people participated in the event, including representatives of relevant departments, universities, associations in the field of culture and tourism, women’s organizations, and mass media from China and Russia.
In addition to the ceremonial meeting, accompanying events were also held on Wednesday, including a photo exhibition dedicated to the friendship and cooperation between the regions of China and Russia.
The aforementioned meeting was organized by Heilongjiang Province and Russia’s Primorsky Krai with the support of the China-Russia Committee for Friendship, Peace, and Development. -0-
