Jinan, July 22 /Xinhua/ — On Tuesday, a cargo train with goods from the Republic of Korea (ROK) departed from Yantai port in Shandong Province (East China), marking the launch of the first such train in China operating on a cross-border mixed transportation route combining sea, rail, and road transport under a “single transport waybill” system. This was reported on Tuesday by the state-owned enterprise China Railway (CR).

According to KTM, a shipment consisting of commercial vehicles and auto parts was sent from the South Korean port of Incheon. Upon arrival at the port of Yantai, this shipment was transferred onto a freight train and sent to Kashgar /Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Northwest China/, from where it will be transported by road to Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

The transportation time along the entire route will be 12 days, which is 5 days less compared to the traditional transportation model.
