In the capital, applications have opened for the Government of Moscow and Sber technology award for representatives of the Russian innovation market. It is presented as part of the Moscow Startup Summit to recognize effective industry development practices, as well as to inspire large companies and investors to support emerging entrepreneurs and develop the economic potential of the regions. The award was presented for the first time in 2025, when more than 1.7 thousand applications were submitted to the contest.
“Last year, applications came from almost all regions of Russia. Technological entrepreneurship is fundamentally important for the country’s development. Moscow strives to create comfortable conditions for conducting and scaling business, to build the necessary infrastructure, and to support promising areas such as robotics, photonics, artificial intelligence, and quantum technologies. The city constantly improves support tools designed to shorten the path from idea development to implementation in the real economic sector. A separate category of the competition is dedicated to projects already applied in the capital,” she noted

According to her, the winner in this category in 2026 will be determined by Muscovites. Experts will choose the top 10 innovative products, and users of the project “Active citizen» will vote for the best developments, in their opinion.
There are a total of 17 categories in the competition. Startups, investors, representatives of corporations and regional development institutions, as well as thematic media projects covering tech entrepreneurship and the implementation of innovations in Russia, can participate.
“In the first year of the technology award, we received more than 1,700 applications from 79 regions of Russia. This response clearly demonstrates that the award can become not just a tool for recognizing outstanding technological achievements, but also a platform for dialogue among all market participants. We see how, thanks to such initiatives, a unified space is formed for interaction among startups, investors, and corporations, which directly contributes to the development of an open innovation ecosystem in various parts of our country,” emphasized Alexey Katkov, Senior Vice President and Director of the Sberbank Center for Advanced Investments.

The applications will be reviewed by a jury composed of leaders of domestic enterprises, well-known entrepreneurs, investors, representatives of government authorities, and specialized educational institutions. Projects will be evaluated based on criteria such as the innovativeness of solutions, quality and scale of partnerships, sustainable financial growth, as well as their contribution to the development and promotion of the technological ecosystem and the creation of new opportunities for its participants.
The awards ceremony will take place in the fall as part of the Moscow Startup Summit.
