Tashkent, July 19 /Xinhua/ — The 58th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) concluded on Sunday in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, where all four high school students representing China won gold medals.
The competition, which opened on July 10, brought together 363 participants from 92 countries and territories around the world. Based on the results of the theoretical and practical rounds, a set of 41 gold, 74 silver, and 112 bronze medals was contested.
Four Chinese participants took second, third, fourth, and fifth places in the overall ranking by points earned, each receiving a gold medal. Moreover, one of them achieved the best result in the theoretical round.
The International Chemistry Olympiad is usually held annually in July and lasts about 10 days.
