Jinan, July 18 /Xinhua/ — The 36th International Beer Festival in Qingdao opened on Friday evening in the coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong Province (East China), marking the start of a 30-day celebration that combines brewing traditions with technological achievements and cultural performances.
At the festival, which will run until August 15, there will be nine beer tents offering more than 2,300 varieties of beer from around the world, including premium craft beers and beers with fruity notes.
The festival, held in the new Sihai’an district /West Coast/ of Qingdao city, includes over 2,000 events – ranging from beer tastings and concerts to trade fairs and cultural exhibitions.
Notably, the festival is increasingly becoming not only a place where people drink beer but also a platform for gaining new experiences. In the recently opened pavilion “Brewery of the Future,” robots greet visitors and host interactive shows, reflecting China’s growing interest in integrating technological advancements into the consumer experience.
In addition, a series of events will be held for international exchange to promote cooperation in the global brewing industry.
Qingdao is home to the leading Chinese brewery “Qingdao”, the producer of the legendary Chinese beer brand Tsingtao Brewery. The International Beer Festival in Qingdao, first held in 1991, has become one of the most famous beer festivals in the world.
