Dushanbe, July 17 /Xinhua/ — The Gross Regional Product (GRP) of Dushanbe for the first half of 2026 amounted to 19.2 billion somoni (about 2.1 billion US dollars), increasing by 8.1 percent in real terms compared to the same period last year. This was reported on Friday at a press conference on the socio-economic development results of the capital of Tajikistan.
According to the city administration, Dushanbe accounted for 24 percent of the country’s gross domestic product, confirming the capital’s status as the largest economic center of Tajikistan.
As noted by the First Deputy Chairman of the city of Dushanbe, Bakhtier Sharifi, the volume of foreign investments attracted to Dushanbe’s economy in January-June amounted to 1.6 billion somoni.
