Shanghai, July 17 /Xinhua/ — Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres in Shanghai on Friday.
Wan Yi, who is also a member of the CPC Central Committee Politburo, welcomed A. Guterres’ visit, who arrived in China to participate in the World Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and to attend the signing ceremony of the agreement establishing the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO).

Wan Yi emphasized that over the past decade, as the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres has firmly upheld the concept of multilateralism, advocated for peace and development worldwide, and contributed to strengthening fruitful cooperation between the UN and China, which is highly appreciated by the Chinese side. He stated that China intends to continue deepening comprehensive cooperation with the UN and support the organization in shaping a more just and equitable system of global governance through reform.
