Today Andrey Travnikov paid a visit to the construction site of the campus and supervised the progress of equipping the educational and scientific center Institute of Medicine and Medical Technologies (IMMT) and the Research Center (RC) of NSU. At the university site, the Governor also held a meeting of the working group to facilitate the implementation of the “NSU Campus” project. The regional head highly appreciated the work done.

The rector of NSU, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, reported to the regional head on the progress of the project Dmitry Pyshny.

In addition to completing construction work on the facilities, it is important for us to ensure their scientific activities. Therefore, last year we already established 12 laboratories, and this year we have increased the number of new subdivisions by another 27. New educational programs and scientific-technological projects are also being developed and implemented, which would be of interest to industrial partners. Most of the new laboratories are focused on the real sector of the economy, developing prototypes, products, and technologies. But, of course, we do not forget about fundamental research. That is why some laboratories are aimed precisely at creating new knowledge and forming a foundation for future developments. — he emphasized.

The creation of the NSU campus is carried out in two stages. The first phase of construction, which includes the educational building and leisure center of the specialized educational and scientific center of NSU, as well as a dormitory complex for 690 places, was completed in 2024. As part of the second phase of construction, a building with lecture halls, a student project center, and a scientific library with a passageway was erected. It was commissioned in 2024, and the educational process in the new building began in September 2025.

Another facility of the second phase is the educational and scientific center of the Institute of Medicine and Medical Technologies. The permit for commissioning the new building was obtained on June 23, 2026; currently, work is underway to equip the building with furniture and technological equipment. The new building of the educational and scientific center of the IMM TS NSU will provide conditions for the education of more than 700 students in medical, pharmaceutical, and psychological fields, including new ones — “Medical Cybernetics” and “Industrial Pharmacy,” which appeared at NSU in 2025. The building will house 13 practical training rooms and 8 laboratories in areas such as molecular pharmacology, metabolomic research, medical chemistry, molecular virology and oncology, among others, as well as one of the most modern and high-tech accreditation-simulation centers in Russia for training future doctors.

Construction and installation work has been completed at the NSU research center, and the supply and installation of technological equipment are currently underway. Up to 180 university research staff will work in the building. Promising scientific and technological fields will be developed based on the research center. These include biomedical and pharmaceutical technologies; space instrumentation; photonics and sensor technologies; synchrotron technologies; high-performance computing; accelerator mass spectrometry; and paleomagnetic research. Additionally, the new building will house pilot industrial production of biotechnological products.

During the meeting, it was noted that for the implementation of the pilot project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation on forming product programs for the NSU campus, four product programs have been developed: Biotechnology and Biomedical Research; Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Processing; Space and Special Instrumentation Engineering; Early Entry into Science: Professional Self-Determination in the Field of Science and High Technologies — including 39 products.
