This summer, students from our university—participants of the International Student Construction Team “Wheel of Fortune,” operating based at SPbGASU—once again became part of the international student construction teams that will work on foreign facilities being constructed by the state corporation Rosatom. Members of the SPbGASU team movement have been sent to the construction sites of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant (Turkey, International Student Construction Team (ISCT) “Bosporus”), El Dabaa (Egypt, ISCT “Oasis”), and Ruppur (Bangladesh, ISCT “Lotus”). Representatives of SPbGASU are going to international facilities for the fourth time.
MSCO projects are implemented with the support of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom and the All-Russian Youth Public Organization “Russian Student Teams.”
Thus, on July 5, at the construction site of the first Turkish nuclear power plant “Akkuyu,” the solemn opening of the eighth work season of the International Student Construction Brigade “Bosporus” took place. The project is organized by the Youth All-Russian Public Organization “Russian Student Brigades” and JSC “CONCERN TITAN-2,” which is hosting the workers for the sixth time. The project was launched in the year declared as the Year of Atomic Energy in the Republic of Turkey and is timed to the key stage of construction – the technical commissioning of the first power unit of the Akkuyu NPP.
“We see you as full-fledged employees. The main goal is to familiarize you as much as possible with real production, to awaken interest in the profession, and to provide a foundation for a professional start. Do not hesitate to ask questions, study what interests you, because this is what creates attachment to the profession and yields the greatest productivity. The guys from the student teams have gone through the entire history of this facility and left a good mark on it,” noted the CEO of TSM Enerji (part of the TITAN-CONCERN-2 group) speaking at the opening. Evgeny Yatsenko.
At the end of the work semester, the organizing companies conduct individual interviews with students and provide employment guarantees to those who have demonstrated a high professional level.
