“KAMAZ”, together with the Nizhny Novgorod special equipment manufacturing plant LLC “Rustrak,” has launched the first container truck in Russia on the KAMAZ-65658 chassis. This new special vehicle based on the K5 generation chassis is an efficient tool for container transportation.

The new product is a compact and maneuverable solution for container logistics. The special vehicle is designed for transporting containers with dangerous goods and fully complies with ADR requirements (categories of vehicles FL and AT).

The chassis is shortened for optimal compatibility according to marine container standards. The reinforced subframe is made from channels and bent profiles of steels used in automotive manufacturing, and the platform itself is equipped with certified TLT-10 fitting locks for reliable cargo securing. The “Rustrak” container carrier on the KAMAZ-65658 chassis is designed to transport containers of types 1CX, 1C, and 1CC.

The developers paid special attention to the durability of the structure under intensive use. All the metal undergoes a three-stage process, including shot blasting, epoxy priming with zinc phosphate compounds, and a final multilayer coating. This technology ensures high coating adhesion, reliable corrosion protection, and extends the service life of the structure even in the harsh environments of ports and terminals.

The high performance of the new container carrier is ensured by the balanced technical specifications of the base chassis KAMAZ-65658. With overall dimensions of 9040×2550×3480 mm, the vehicle has a carrying capacity of 20,000 kg and a total weight of 29,500 kg, which guarantees high efficiency in logistics operations. The vehicle is equipped with a reliable KAMAZ engine with 390 horsepower, paired with a 12-speed automated manual transmission.

Thanks to the combination of compactness, maneuverability, and high load capacity, the new special-purpose vehicle based on the K5 generation chassis KAMAZ-65658 is an effective tool for container transportation within the “last mile” scheme.
