Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin inspected the newly constructed second building of the Unified Dispatch Center (UDC), which will become a key link in managing the entire network of ground, rail, water transport, taxis, carsharing, and individual mobility means in the capital. After the facility is commissioned, the combined complex of two buildings will become the largest modern dispatch management center for urban transport in Europe.
The first building of the Unified Dispatch Center, responsible for rail transport, was opened in 2019. The new building will provide centralized control over the operation of ground and water transport, taxis, carsharing, personal mobility devices, and delivery services. The unified dispatch system will integrate:
- Ground transportation – more than 900 routes, 6,500 electric buses and buses;
- Rail transport – 6,902 metro cars, 604 trams (including 4 driverless), 255 cars of the Moscow Central Circle, and 4,333 cars of the Moscow Central Diameters;
- Water transport – over 190 river vessels;
- Taxi and carsharing – 206 thousand taxi cars in the capital and the region, 41 thousand carsharing vehicles;
- Personal mobility devices and delivery – 93 thousand PMDs and 125 thousand couriers.
During the inspection, the mayor highly appreciated the scale of the facility and its technical equipment. The new building is designed to accommodate over 400 employees. It will also house the Information Center services, which will enable the prompt receipt of up-to-date data on changes in transport operations and provide passengers with personalized responses. By combining all functions in the EDC, the speed of informing city residents will double.
