Almaty, July 14 /Xinhua/ — At 17:48 Moscow time on Tuesday, a Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle carrying the Soyuz MS-29 manned spacecraft was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, heading to the International Space Station (ISS). This was reported in a message published on the website of the state corporation Roscosmos.
The flight to the ISS will follow a two-orbit rendezvous scheme. The spacecraft is expected to dock with the “Pirs” module of the Russian segment of the station at around 20:56 Moscow time.
The crew of the spacecraft consists of Roscosmos cosmonauts Petr Dubrov and Anna Kikina, as well as NASA astronaut Anil Menon.
Scientific equipment will be delivered to the ISS along with the crew, the main part of which is intended for conducting medical-biological and biotechnological research. The astronauts’ mission will last 261 days, during which 38 space experiments and targeted tasks are planned, as well as 2 spacewalks. –0–
