Moscow, July 14 /Xinhua/ — Russia considers the resumption of US strikes on Iran as a violation of the memorandum of understanding concluded between the parties. This was stated on Tuesday by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a press conference following negotiations in Moscow with the Foreign Minister of Chad, Abdoulaye Sabre Fadoul.

“We consider it a violation of the memorandum, and there is not much to comment on here. It is sad because both civilian infrastructure in Iran and civilian facilities in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf are suffering,” Sergey Lavrov was quoted as saying by TASS.

The head of the Russian foreign policy department emphasized that the resumption of military aggression against Iran leads to nothing good and closes the door to resolving the conflict in the Middle East. “The most important thing is that this does not lead to a resolution. It closes the door that the mentioned memorandum, which you referred to, seemed to have slightly opened,” he pointed out.
