Hangzhou, July 14 /Xinhua/ — On Tuesday, a truck carrying more than 80 thousand parcels for marketplaces departed from the city of Yiwu in Zhejiang Province (Eastern China) under the TIR system (International Road Transport), which will go directly to Kazan, Russia, in 12 days.
This new model “TIR plus cross-border e-commerce /CBE/”, which has been launched on the postal-transport channel in Yiwu, in turn, after air transportation, opens another new corridor for export within the framework of CBE.

As explained by Cai Feifei, the director of international operations at the Yiwu branch of China Post Corporation, after the launch of the new model, the total delivery time for mail to Russia will be reduced by 20 percent. In the future, it is planned to send one container daily.
According to her report, in recent years, with the active support of the Yiwu customs, the local postal service has already opened a number of specialized routes, including the combined road-rail communication between Yiwu and Russia, providing customers with more diverse logistics solutions.
The head of the postal control department of Yiwu Customs, Xu Xiaoou, reported that thanks to the optimization of the layout structure of control sites and the modernization of technical equipment, the total customs clearance time for parcels under the TCE has been reduced by 1-2 hours.
According to statistics, in the first five months of this year, the number of export declarations under the TIR system in Yiwu increased by 32.9% year-on-year.
