The running club of the PAO “KAMAZ” union, consisting of 25 people, won second place in the corporate League S at the large-scale night run “Night Kazan-2026”, which took place on July 11-12 in the capital of Tatarstan.
For the Kamaz team, participating in Kazan’s night races has already become a good tradition – the athletes have repeatedly proven their endurance in such competitions. This year, the event took on a special color: for the first time in the race’s history, the route was laid not along the usual promenade, but through the historic heart of the city. The course ran past the renovated building of the Galiaskar Kamal Theater, the Ekiyat Puppet Theater, and Lake Kaban. The night panorama of the city created a special atmosphere.
The sports program included two main adult distances. The 5 km race started on July 11 at 22:30, and exactly at midnight runners took to the 10 km course. Traditionally, the event was not without young athletes: separate races of 300, 600 meters, and 1 km were organized for children and teenagers. The organizer of the competition, which gathered thousands of running enthusiasts, was TIMERMAN.
The KAMAZ team focused primarily on the ten-kilometer distance – all representatives of the automotive giant successfully crossed the finish line, receiving commemorative medals. Interest in sports at the company continues to grow: this year, the team included not only experienced runners but also newcomers. Traditionally, the team was supported by the automotive giant’s Trade Union organization.
“This year we ran on a new course. The route was interesting, I liked it. The air temperature was only 20 degrees, but running was not easy. The guys from the team did great. Everyone successfully reached the finish, and almost all chose the 10 km distance. We are happy with our results.”, – shared his impressions Lead design engineer of the Development Block of PJSC KAMAZ, Ilnaz Gazizov.
In the corporate League C, the competition was fierce. The top spot was held by the team “YADRAN”, and the top three was completed by “Altera”. The KAMAZ runners received a diploma and a commemorative prize for second place.
The running season is not over yet for the Kamaz team. In August, the Kama Half Marathon will take place in Naberezhnye Chelny, dedicated to the 400th anniversary of the founding of Naberezhnye Chelny and the 50th anniversary of the production of the first KAMAZ vehicle. Participants can expect three distances – 3, 10, and 21 kilometers.
