Beijing, July 14 /Xinhua/ — The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China has implemented a comprehensive set of measures to support the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region /South China/ in disaster relief and recovery efforts following floods caused by Typhoon “Maesak”.
As reported by the agricultural department, 22 tons of disinfectants, 9,300 sets of protective suits, and other items were sent to Guangxi for use in epidemic prevention and control work in areas affected by the flooding.
Employees and experts were sent to the most affected areas to provide the necessary advice and assistance in resolving the problems that arose.
Efforts are currently underway to drain flooded agricultural lands, restore damaged crops, or reseed fields where the harvest was completely destroyed. At the same time, to prevent major epidemics among animals, dead livestock and poultry are being disposed of.
