The city of Naberezhnye Chelny is the heart of Tatarstan’s industry. Its name is inextricably linked with the history of the automotive giant KAMAZ, from whose assembly line the first truck rolled off exactly 50 years ago. The plant shaped not only the city’s economy – it became the birthplace of many labor dynasties.
On July 14, 2026, the Bank of Russia will issue a commemorative silver coin with a face value of 3 rubles “400th Anniversary of the Founding of Naberezhnye Chelny” from the “Cities” series (catalog number 5111-0537).
The silver coin with a face value of 3 rubles (precious metal weight in purity – 31.1 g, alloy fineness – 925) has a circular shape with a diameter of 39.0 mm.
There is a raised rim along the circumference on both the obverse and reverse sides of the coin.
The obverse side of the coin features a relief image of the State Emblem of the Russian Federation, with inscriptions: “RUSSIAN FEDERATION,” “BANK OF RUSSIA,” the coin’s denomination “3 RUBLES,” the year of issue “2026,” the metal designation according to D.I. Mendeleev’s Periodic Table of Elements, alloy fineness, the trademark of the Saint Petersburg Mint, and the mass of precious metal in pure form.
On the reverse side of the coin are embossed images of the coat of arms of Naberezhnye Chelny, the city hall, and the business center, as well as a KAMAZ truck against the backdrop of the cityscape, executed using laser matting technique; there are inscriptions: at the top along the circumference – “NABEREZHNYE CHELNY”, on the left in two lines – “400 YEARS”.
The coin’s edge is reeded.
The coin is made with “proof” quality.
The coin mintage is 3,000 pieces.
The issued coin is a legal tender within the territory of the Russian Federation and must be accepted at face value for all types of payments without restrictions.
