Tehran, July 12 /Xinhua/ — The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that on Sunday it attacked U.S. bases in Jordan, Qatar, and Oman in response to American strikes on southern Iran carried out earlier that same day.

On the official information portal Sepah News, the IRGC reported that the US military carried out airstrikes on several coastal military bases and communication towers on the southern coast of Iran.

As stated by the IRGC, during the first phase of retaliatory operations, its forces shelled “important” infrastructure and US facilities at the Prince Hassan Airbase in Jordan, destroying the command and control center as well as a hangar for MQ-9 Reaper drones.

In the second stage, the IRGC attacked a “violator” ship in the Strait of Hormuz and stopped its progress. In addition, it struck the Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, causing significant damage to its command, as well as to the fighter jet overhaul and maintenance centers.

In the third stage, the troops shelled the logistics support centers and refueling platforms of American aircraft carriers at the Omani port of Duqm. According to reports, the targets were destroyed as a result of a “massive and sudden” attack.

The IRGC warned of harsher retaliatory measures in case of repeated American attacks against Iran. –0–
