Tashkent, July 11 /Xinhua/ — On July 10, the 58th International Chemistry Olympiad commenced in Tashkent.
It is reported that this event is being held for the first time in history in Central Asia.
About 1,000 students, team leaders, observers, and guests from more than 90 countries are participating in the Olympiad, which will last until July 19. Each national team is represented by a team of four participants and two mentors.
The International Chemistry Olympiad has been held annually since 1968. At the 57th International Chemistry Olympiad, held in 2025 in Dubai /UAE/, the Chinese team won four gold medals. –0–
