Dushanbe, July 9 /Xinhua/ — Tajikistan exported 1.451 billion kWh of electricity in the first six months of 2026, which is 7 percent less compared to the same period last year. This is reported in the report of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the country.

According to the ministry’s data, the value of exported electricity amounted to 292.2 million somoni /about 31.6 million US dollars/. The main export destinations were Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.

Electricity exports from Tajikistan are seasonal. As noted by the agency, about 90 percent of the total supply volume occurred during the period from April to June, when river water flow increases. –0–
