Beijing, July 9 /Xinhua/ — On Wednesday, an exhibition of outstanding works by masters of Russian oil painting and contour drawings opened in Shenyang, the administrative center of Liaoning Province /Northeast China/. This was reported by the internet portal “Zhongguo Xinwenwang”.
The event is taking place at the Shenyang Art Museum. It is organized by the Tourism, Culture, Radio and Television Administration of Shenyang and the Shenyang Public Cultural Services Center.
As noted in the message, the exhibition, aimed at shedding light on the nearly 100-year history of Russian painting development, features about 100 masterpieces of Russian oil painting and contour drawings dating from the 19th to 20th centuries. Among the exhibits are outstanding works by such great artists as Isaac Levitan and Andrei Mylnikov.
Holding the exhibition allows for the creation of a bridge of artistic exchanges between China and Russia and meets the spiritual and cultural needs of the residents of Shenyang city, aiming to strengthen the soft power in the cultural sphere and the artistic influence of this city, organizers of the event reported.
It is known that the exhibition will last until August 30 of this year.
