Moscow, July 8 /Xinhua/ — Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with members of the government of the Russian Federation on Wednesday, dedicated to the situation with fuel in the country and the operation of transport infrastructure. This was reported on the Kremlin’s website.

As noted in his report by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, the fuel situation has partially stabilized, but remains difficult. At the same time, demand has increased by about one third.

He emphasized that the government continues to implement additional measures to stabilize the situation. In particular, Russia will begin importing fuel from other countries in July. In addition, a complete ban on diesel exports has been introduced.

The head of the Russian Ministry of Transport, Andrey Nikitin, in turn, reported that the key infrastructure is operating normally. According to him, the country’s transport system withstands peak loads and remains stable.

The minister assured that everything is being done to ensure the transportation of goods and passengers amid the difficult fuel situation.

The previous meeting with government members was held by V. Putin at the end of June. It was dedicated to the topic of fuel supply to the regions of Russia. –0–
