LLC “UralFireProtection”, a company specializing in the design, manufacture, and sale of special firefighting equipment, is celebrating its first anniversary — 5 years since its founding. During this time, the company has evolved from a single specialized vehicle to a full lineup of 10 models, securing a strong position in the firefighting special equipment market.

A story that began with one car

The enterprise was established on October 13, 2021. Already in December of the same year, the first vehicle — a six-cubic fire truck on a “Ural” chassis, developed according to the assignment from the Main Directorate of Fire Protection of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia — was manufactured, handed over to the interdepartmental commission, and delivered to the customer.

“The company’s history began with the creation of a six-cubic fire engine on a Ural chassis. It took about 3 months to develop the design documentation, build a prototype, and successfully complete all the necessary tests,” recalls Pavel Osovsky, Deputy General Director for Technical Affairs at UralPozhZashchita LLC.

The first success allowed the enterprise to secure a large contract, and already in 2022, 162 fire trucks were manufactured. Notably, the company’s “firstborn” remains in demand and is supplied as part of the State Defense Order.

From a single model to a complete lineup

Today, the “UralFireProtection” lineup includes 10 models — from fire tankers to airport vehicles. In just 5 years, the company has produced 852 units of specialized fire equipment. The machines are built both on the legendary “Ural-4320” base and on the NEXT series chassis: “Ural 5557” and “Ural 43206”.

The production of each vehicle begins with a bare chassis, onto which additional equipment is installed: firefighting tools, rescue equipment, inventory, and PPE. The vehicle is designed to operate in extreme conditions — at temperatures from -40 to +50 degrees, off-road, and in dense urban traffic.

Manufacturing and Scientific Approach

The production process of “UralFireProtection” includes several key areas. At the tanker truck section, aluminum bodies are manufactured, and their welding requires special precision. Recently, the enterprise acquired a modern jig, which allowed maintaining all angles and dimensions of the structures with maximum accuracy.

The final stage is assembly. Specialists assemble from 20 to 30 cars per month, each finished vehicle consisting of almost one and a half thousand parts.

The company pays special attention to simplicity of design without compromising quality. In developing equipment, “UralPozhZashchita” closely cooperates with the Main Directorate of Fire Protection of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia and research institutes of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (Federal State Budgetary Institution All-Russian Research Institute for Fire Protection of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, Ural Research Institute of Fire Protection). All produced equipment has a Declaration of Conformity with the requirements of the EAEU TR 043/2017 and is included in the Register of Russian Industrial Products (Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 719 dated 17.07.2015).

Team and partners

Starting from 2024, the main and sole founder of the enterprise is the Ural Automobile Plant. The staff of “UralFireProtection” today numbers 343 people. Active work is underway at the enterprise to restore workshops and the adjacent territory: repairs have been carried out on facades, roofs, inter-workshop premises, and window openings.

The main customers of the enterprise, in addition to the Ural Automobile Plant, are the Federal National Guard Troops Service of the Russian Federation, Russian regions, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, oil and gas companies, and airports. Products of “UralFireProtection” are also well known abroad: in Cuba, Mongolia, Libya, and Tanzania.

A Look into the Future

“We would like to believe that our products will continue to be in demand not only within the structures of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, but also in other sectors. To this end, we are creating a new product line and for two years now have been supplying equipment to oil and gas companies and airports. In just the last two years, new fire trucks have been delivered to 15 airports. With the support of the URAL Motor Plant, we look confidently to the future, which provides stability and assurance that the enterprise will continue to develop,” emphasized Rustam Rafikov, General Director of LLC UralPozhZashchita.
