Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order approving the action plan for the implementation of the first stage of the Energy Strategy, designed for the period up to 2050.

The plan includes more than 80 activities scheduled for the next three years – from 2027 to 2029. Their implementation will allow the continued adaptation of the fuel and energy sector to current challenges and ensure the achievement of the national goals set by the President.

The main focus will be on maintaining the reliability of energy supply and further improving the energy sector through the introduction of effective technologies, infrastructure modernization, increasing the production of components and equipment, as well as optimizing resource use.

Through digitalization and automation, reduction of harmful emissions, and expansion of environmentally friendly production methods, conditions will be created for the use of innovations, the stimulation of smart energy, and the growth of the share of alternative and renewable energy sources.

A separate set of measures is aimed at developing international cooperation to strengthen Russia’s position in global markets. In particular, it is planned to enhance interaction with friendly states and the promotion of specialized goods and services.

Great attention is also paid to personnel policy issues, the training and support of young specialists, talented scientists, and engineers. Within this work, professional standards in the fuel and energy sector will be updated, and youth events will be implemented to promote engineering and technical education.

The Energy Strategy of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2050 was approved by the Government in 2025. This key document for the development of the state was updated by the President’s directive.

The announcement of the plan of measures for implementing the strategy was made by Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with the deputy prime ministers on November 2.

“All these steps will lay the foundation for solving long-term tasks, the groundwork that will help ensure the advanced development of our economy and maintain Russia’s role as one of the leading suppliers in the global energy market,” emphasized the head of the cabinet.

The document will be published.
