Symola village of the Wa nationality is located in Sanzhacun village, Qingshui town, Tengchong city, Yunnan province. It has a history of more than 500 years, and is home to representatives of several nationalities — Wa, Han, Bai, Dai, and others. The name “Symola” means “happy place” in the Wa language. The village is surrounded by green hills and trees, and traditional houses are picturesquely scattered along the slopes — attracting tourists from all over the country.

In recent years, local authorities have emphasized strengthening the consciousness of the Chinese nation’s community — this has become a key development direction for the region. Relying on natural resources and ethnic characteristics, the region is forming a unique cultural and tourism industry, based on the heritage of local nationalities. In 2025, the village of Symola, inhabited by the Wa nationality, was visited by 631,000 tourists, and tourism revenue amounted to 8.6 million yuan.
