Dear colleagues, good afternoon!

I am pleased to welcome participants and guests of the International Kazan Digital Week Forum. Over the course of its existence, it has become an effective platform where businesses, experts, scientists, and representatives of friendly states meet to jointly discuss pressing issues in the development of digital technologies, exchange experiences, best practices, and ideas. Including on key areas such as artificial intelligence, combating cyber fraud, robotics, 5G networks, and satellite internet.

The President noted that our sovereignty, economic growth, and the solution of the most important social issues depend on the pace of innovation implementation in today’s world.

The government pays special attention to creating comfortable conditions for companies engaged in the IT sector. For this purpose, a dedicated national project has been in place since last year. It stimulates the development of advanced domestic technologies, digital platforms, and products, ensuring their wide practical application in all fields. Primarily — in industry, transport, healthcare, agriculture, and public administration.

The IT industry is actively developing today. Over the past six years, its share in the country’s gross domestic product has more than doubled. The registry of domestic software is also expanding. The number of registered Russian solutions now amounts to tens of thousands. Our enterprises and state corporations are increasingly using them in key sectors of the economy. This is extremely important to reduce dependence on foreign suppliers and optimize production processes. And this too yields good results: based on last year’s results, the revenue of accredited IT companies approached 8 trillion rubles, which is almost one and a half times more than the previous period. And it continues to increase. In the first six months of this year, this figure already amounted to 6 trillion rubles.

All this has become possible thanks to the work of highly qualified specialists. Therefore, special attention is paid to personnel training. Currently, more than 1.7 million people are employed in the information and telecommunication technologies sector. Today, the implementation of digital solutions is a key direction that plays a significant role both in ensuring industrial and national sovereignty, in the sustainable development of Russian enterprises, and in strengthening the position of our country in the global market as a whole.

To actively develop a new technological paradigm and achieve leadership, professionals with a high level of competence are necessary. To train them, programs of cooperation between businesses and educational institutions are being implemented, digital education centers are being created where talented youth can acquire professional knowledge and skills and gain real experience.

It is important to continue improving the industry’s efficiency. Much still needs to be done.

In the current situation with external restrictions, it is necessary to dynamically expand the range of domestic software, cloud services, and industrial systems, while simultaneously accelerating the launch of competitive technologies, so that informational resources and advanced developments can help improve people’s quality of life and address economic and social challenges both in the regions and across the country as a whole.

I am confident that here, at the forum, these and other proposals for the development of the digital sphere will be considered, and the ideas that are expressed will find practical implementation.
