Deputy Chairman of the Government of Russia Alexander Novak met with the Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, Mwigulu Lameck Nchemba, as part of the third Russia–Africa Summit.

The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in a number of areas, including the fuel and energy complex, trade and economic, and financial and banking sectors.

“Tanzania has come a long way and is now rightly considered one of the leaders of economic development in East Africa, which opens up new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation. We follow the republic’s successes with interest. Russia is set on further strengthening political dialogue, parliamentary and interdepartmental exchanges, deepening cooperation in geological exploration and natural uranium mining, energy, industry, transport and logistics, agriculture, tourism, as well as in finance and investment sectors,” emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister.

Alexander Novak noted that Tanzania’s participation in the third Russia-Africa summit is evidence of the high level of Russian-Tanzanian relations and a shared interest in their further development. This event opens new opportunities for deepening Russia’s partnership with African countries, and the United Republic of Tanzania, as one of the key partners of the Russian Federation on the continent, can play a significant role in this process.
