The capital repair and restoration work on the facades, plinths, and entrance groups of the Moscow State University buildings complex named after M.V. Lomonosov on Mokhovaya and Bolshaya Nikitskaya streets has been completed. This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

“Improving university infrastructure is a direct investment in the quality of education, the comfort of students and teachers, and the future of the country. Such work is currently underway throughout Russia, and the MSU complex in the center of Moscow is one of the significant projects in this direction. Here, the major overhaul of the external contour has been fully completed. Specialists from the OSC ‘Unified Customer in the Field of Construction’ have restored the facades, plinths, and entrance groups of the Zoological Museum, the faculties of psychology and arts, as well as the Institute of Asian and African Countries. The total area of the renovated facades exceeded 15 thousand square meters. This work is important both for preserving the historical appearance of the city center and for creating a modern educational environment in the country’s leading university,” said Marat Khusnullin.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, at the neighboring site – in the building of the MSU Faculty of Journalism – dismantling and preparatory activities are already nearing completion, and specialists have begun finishing the first interior rooms.

“Major renovations are also ongoing at the main building of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov on the Vorobyovy Gory. Specialists have already renovated the 7th, 12th, and 22nd floors of the building, where the premises of the geological, geographical, and mechanics and mathematics faculties are located. Currently, the 9th, 10th, 21st, and 23rd floors are actively being renovated. Builders are carrying out interior finishing, repairing engineering systems, and restoring the historic furniture located there — tables, cabinets, chandeliers, and other decorative items,” said Karen Oganesyan, General Director of PPK “Unified Customer.”
