Tutaev Motor Plant, a subsidiary of KAMAZ in the Yaroslavl region, continues work on expanding the model range of industrial engines on the “Etalon” platform, created with the participation of the Scientific and Technical Center of PJSC KAMAZ. The enterprise is working on a prototype of a new engine with a power of 441 kW (600 hp).

As Deputy Chief Designer of PJSC “TMZ” Alexander Shevtsov said, in September specialists from the Chief Designer’s Department and the TMZ mechanical assembly shop conducted a series of tests to select components and adjust the electronic control system of the experimental engine model 8809.10-02 with a power output of 441 kW (600 hp). The test cycle concluded with a verification of the turbocharger’s performance at extreme modes, carried out jointly with the manufacturer of the boost units, JSC “Turbocomplect.”

By the end of October, the 8809.10-02 engine will be handed over to FSUE “NAMI” for testing interaction with advanced hybrid transmissions being developed by the state scientific center.
