Moscow Innovation Cluster (MIK) and the international digital art studio Ouchhh have signed a long-term partnership agreement. It will provide metropolitan media technology developers with access to global media art practices, methodologies, and project scaling methods, as well as help improve technologies and enter the international market.

The agreement was signed on October 9 within the framework of the “Digital Solutions” forum by Olga Romanets, Deputy General Director of the Moscow Innovation Cluster Foundation, and the company’s founder, Ferdi Aliji. He also spoke on the topic “Digital Art in the Language of Data” as part of a two-day intensive at the media technology cluster.

One of the world’s most renowned media art studios with offices in seven countries was founded in 2010 in Istanbul. In large-scale multimedia installations, it transforms scientific data, architectural patterns, and information about the Universe into audiovisual performances. Over 16 years, the studio has completed more than 75 projects on all continents in collaboration with scientists, researchers, and technology companies. Its works have been recognized with international design awards.

“Cooperation with Ouchhh is a strategic step that makes Moscow part of the global media art agenda. We are creating conditions for metropolitan technology companies to participate in global-level projects in digital art, to exchange knowledge, to experiment together with industry leaders, and to turn bold ideas into real projects,” said Olga Romanets, Deputy General Director of the Moscow Innovation Cluster Foundation.

Residents of the media technology cluster, which opened in September on the territory of the Skolkovo Innovation Center, will gain access to the studio’s methodology. A series of lectures, workshops, and master classes will be held for developer companies. Participants will learn how to transform scientific data into works of art and professionally work with artificial intelligence (AI) tools.

Joint projects in the field of AI art and digital content will help bring Moscow’s media technologies to the international level, and the studio’s experience in working with architecture and data will showcase urban spaces in a new way.

The studio sees partnership as a mutually beneficial exchange. According to Ferdi Aliji, the team is ready to share their artistic vision, creative methods, and experience in creating large-scale installations, while the Moscow companies will bring a fresh perspective, new technologies, and unconventional ideas. Plans include not only creating joint works but also startups, as well as mentoring young authors. The studio’s founder noted that the team has long been inspired by Russian heritage — from typography and design to mathematics and space exploration.

“Our goal is not just to bring Ouchhh’s works to Moscow, but to create something here that can only emerge from the meeting of people, ideas, and cultures, and then to show it to the whole world. We want to share experience and at the same time learn from talented authors, engineers, and scientists working in Moscow,” Fermy Aliji noted.

The parties have already begun preparing joint projects. The first educational sessions for residents of the media technology cluster will take place in the near future.

International Digital Art Studio

The international digital art studio Ouchhh specializes in combining art, science, and technology, creating projects based on big data, machine learning algorithms, and artificial intelligence. Its key methodology is described by the formula “data as paint, algorithm as brush.” The studio works with scientific data — from NASA’s space observations to CERN experiment results, transforming them into large-scale audiovisual installations, sculptures, and immersive spaces.

Among the most renowned projects is the multimedia installation Poetic AI at the Paris digital art center Atelier des Lumières. About one million people saw it in nine months. The project received the international Red Dot Design Award.

Another work by the studio is Datagate, installed in the city of Nanjing. It is the world’s first public sculpture using AI, created based on NASA astronomical data.

In 2024, the work Human Cell Atlas was sent to the Moon as part of the SpaceX space mission. When creating it, data on 32 trillion cells of the human body was used. According to the studio, Human Cell Atlas became the first AI art work to be on the surface of a satellite.

The studio has completed over 75 public projects on every continent, including Tokyo, New York, Paris, London, Moscow, Shanghai, Dubai, and São Paulo. It has collaborated with NASA, CERN, Google, Ferrari, Nike, Bulgari, Mercedes, Sony PlayStation, and other international organizations and brands. The studio’s projects have been recognized with prestigious awards, including the German Design Award, ADC Awards (New York), Muse Creative Awards, and Asia Design Award.

The studio’s headquarters is located in Istanbul, with partner offices in Los Angeles, Vienna, Barcelona, Paris, London, and Berlin.

Media Technology Cluster

The media technologies cluster is the second phase of the creative cluster established by the MIC on the territory of the Skolkovo Innovation Center. The complex was solemnly opened on September 15, 2026, with the participation of the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev and the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin.

The main goal of the cluster is to create an ecosystem that unites leading media companies, technology developers, startups, and creative teams for collaboration, experience sharing, and bringing new products to the market.

The key areas of activity for residents are immersive technologies (VR/AR), virtual production, digital twins, 3D modeling, metaverses and digital avatars, as well as the development of equipment and software for the media industry.

Residents of the media technology cluster gain access to specialized infrastructure (virtual production studio, piloting zones, office spaces), preferential rental terms, assistance in promotion, and comprehensive support within the programs and services of the Moscow Innovation Cluster.

You can join the media technology cluster if you have the status of a MIC resident. The application must be submitted on the platform i.moscow.
