Investment volume in microelectronics development in special economic zone The special economic zone (SEZ) “Technopolis Moscow” increased by 11.7 times in the first six months of 2026. Residents invested 157.5 billion rubles in their projects. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry. Maxim Liksutov.

“By order of Sergey Sobyanin, the city provides extensive support to high-tech and knowledge-intensive industries such as microelectronics, which promotes investor activity. Today, more than 30 residents of the SEZ supply the Russian, including the Moscow, market with a domestic electronic component base, optical devices, and equipment. During the operation of the special economic zone, the total amount of private investments in the development of Moscow microelectronics reached 389.3 billion rubles. The company’s funds were directed to construction, research, modernization, and expansion of production capacities,” noted Maxim Liksutov.

The first serial production of optical transceivers in Russia based on chip-on-board (COB) technology, created using photonic integrated circuits and designed for the domestic telecom sector including 5G networks, is located in the SEZ “Technopolis Moscow”. The investment volume in this project exceeded 5.8 billion rubles.

In addition, the country’s first robotic production line for serial manufacturing of LCD display modules was launched here. Such components are in demand in many industries, including the transportation sector. 1.4 billion rubles were invested in the implementation of this project.

Another resident of the SEZ has opened a modern production of charging modules for electric transport and power supplies for server equipment based on domestic component base. These solutions will be used in data centers, including for big data processing and AI system operations, while power modules will help scale the network of fast charging stations for urban and personal electric transport.

Companies are actively investing in new developments as well. This year, one of the residents specializing in radio-electronic equipment presented two innovative products at once: a quantum sensor for space research and a mini-shuttle for delivering cargo from orbit to Earth. The sensor will allow scientists to study the processes of cosmic dust formation, which is becoming an increasingly serious risk factor for space missions. The mini-shuttle is a compact and economical new-type vehicle capable of returning to Earth with a payload.

In 2026, the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone will celebrate its 20th anniversary. Over its operation, the site has evolved from a starting point for innovative projects to a key industrial hub of the country. Today, more than 250 high-tech enterprises are located across 10 sites totaling 430 hectares. They work in strategically important fields — microelectronics, instrument engineering, biomedicine, IT, and robotics. The development of the special economic zone is undertaken by Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of the City of Moscow.

Moscow is actively developing industrial infrastructure for high-tech enterprises. Thanks to city initiatives, companies are increasing production output and launching innovative manufacturing. This contributes to the implementation of the national project. “An efficient and competitive economy”.
