In the creative residence “Youth of Moscow. Rodina» (Izmailovsky Val street, building 5) On October 27 at 18:00, a dance competition will take place. Dancers, choreographers, and students aged 14 to 35 are invited to participate regardless of dance style and skill level. Pre-registration is required in the ‘Youth of Moscow’ project group on the social network “VKontakte”.
“We want every dancer and choreographer in Moscow to have a platform where they can not only showcase their technique but also reveal their individuality and receive professional feedback. This is exactly how the creative community is formed, which we support within the framework of the project,” noted Margarita Savinkina, the project manager of “Youth of Moscow.”
The competition will take place in three stages. First, participants will present improvisational performances lasting less than one minute. They will find out the music they have to dance to immediately before stepping onto the floor. Based on the performances, the jury will select several participants for the next stage.
In the second stage, the dancers will showcase their talents one on one. The participants will compete in pairs and perform improvisations. The winner of each pair will be chosen by the jury.
In the third stage, four participants will compete for two places in the final. Their performances will be evaluated by professional dancers, winners and prize-winners of international championships, renowned choreographers and directors, as well as representatives of leading dance groups in Moscow.
The winners will receive special prizes, and all participants will get professional evaluation from experienced judges. The competition will allow young dancers to get to know each other, exchange experiences, and find like-minded people.
The competition will be held within the framework of the ‘Moscow Youth. Creative’ direction. It helps talented residents of the capital to showcase their skills, make themselves known at the city level, and perform on Moscow stages.
