River electric vessels and floating piers in the capital are being prepared for winter. Sergey Sobyanin spoke about this on his channel on in the “Max” messenger.

“Specialists are checking all life support systems, including heating and ventilation, automatic doors, and climate control. They are carefully inspecting metal hulls for corrosion and other damage. All electric ships have reinforced hulls and an ice class ‘Ice-20’; they can navigate through broken ice up to 20 centimeters thick,” noted the Mayor of Moscow.

Until the beginning of December, divers will inspect the infrastructure: they will examine the fastenings of floating docks and pontoon transitions to them, as well as the mechanisms that restrain the dock’s oscillations on the water.

To ensure uninterrupted transport communication on the Moscow River in winter, four icebreakers will be operational.

There are currently four regular river electric transport routes operating in the capital. They are serviced by 31 vessel and 25 floating docks.

“Since 2023, the network of routes has grown almost fivefold — to around 34 kilometers. The innovative project of year-round regular electric boat routes has become popular among Muscovites and visitors to the capital: since its launch, they have made more than 4.4 million trips, of which over 1.3 million were in 2026 alone,” added Sergey Sobyanin.
