A tour will talk about traditions related to the role of the father in the family and society “I’m proud of you, Dad!”. It will take place at the Museum of Slavic Writing “Slovo” on October 18 at 6:00 PM. For centuries, the father has been a role model, provider, mentor, guardian of order and family honor. This image is reflected in folklore and numerous written sources. The tour will talk about how the relationships between fathers and children are depicted in Russian proverbs and sayings, fairy tales, epics, and chronicles. They will talk about astronauts’ families on the tour “Space Fathers”. It will take place at the “Cosmonautics and Aviation” center on October 18 at 7:30 PM. The tour is dedicated to the close ones of space explorers — those who not only take pride in their achievements but also learn daily to wait, cope with anxiety and excitement. Additionally, participants will learn about the lives of the fathers of cosmonautics, their work, and their children who chose the same profession. The guides will explain how future cosmonauts prepare for flight, the tests they undergo before reaching orbit, and how families support each other when their loved ones are in space. Registration — at link.

The excursion will be about the people who left a mark in the history of the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy “Men’s images of VDNH”. It will begin on October 19 at 13:00. The meeting place is the VDNH museum (Prospect Mira, building 119, structure 228). Guests will learn who was the first director of the exhibition, in whose honor the first chestnut was planted on the Cosmonauts’ Alley, and much more. Participants will also be told how the famous pavilions and alleys were created, and how the unique architectural image of VDNH was formed. Advance registration is required registration.

Fathers will also be honored at the “House of Russian Cuisine.” On October 18 at 14:00, a festive gastronomic program will begin. Chefs from the corners and the federal project “Gastronomic Map of Russia” will prepare fathers’ favorite dishes and present them to guests for tasting.

Hosting events for the whole family at VDNH aligns with the objectives of the national project “Family”. More details about Russia’s national projects and the capital’s contribution can be found on the special page.
