Opening remarks by Mikhail Mishustin at the strategic session on the implementation of national projects for technological leadership

Today we will continue the discussion of a large set of issues and decisions aimed at strengthening the industrial sector. This is the foundation for the country’s development and the basis for improving the quality of life of our citizens.

The President identified technological leadership as one of the key national goals. It is important not only to achieve independence in industries critically important to the economy, but also to provide opportunities for the formation of entirely new markets of breakthrough domestic developments.

To achieve this, nine large-scale national projects are being actively implemented, each with the necessary funding allocated. In the three-year federal budget, which is being prepared for the first reading in the State Duma, approximately 2 trillion rubles are allocated for these purposes in total.

I would like to note that Russian regions will also allocate funds for the implementation of the planned projects. We expect that business investments will make a significant contribution to the common cause.

Importantly, the measures being taken are already yielding concrete results. Today we will look in more detail at some of the directions. First of all – “New atomic and energy technologies,” where accelerated production of equipment for the fuel and energy complex is underway. At the moment, its volume has reached almost a trillion rubles.

Special attention is paid to the innovative infrastructure of the nuclear industry. For example, a fast neutron reactor installation is being built in the Tomsk region. Meanwhile, its full-scale training simulator was already put into operation this year at the Siberian Chemical Combine site.

Mikhail Mishustin held a strategic session on the implementation of national technological leadership projects.

Dynamic work is also underway within the “New Materials and Chemistry” sector. In just the first half of the year, 12 initiatives with a total value of approximately 10 billion rubles have been completed.

In particular, in the Sverdlovsk region, an enterprise began operations for the production of special components – foundry binders and novolak resins, which are used in a number of industries, including metallurgy, automotive, and electronics.
