A creative felting workshop for children and adults will be held at Library No. 37.
Participants of the event will be able to make a keychain in the shape of a kitten. Felting from wool (also called felting) is a handicraft technique in which natural wool is transformed into a dense material (felt), from which various items are made: toys, panels, accessories, clothing elements, or decorative details. The secret lies in the special structure of wool fibers: they have an outer scaly layer. These scales act like “locks”: they interlock with each other, and the mass densifies, turning into felt.
The event will be conducted by Anastasia Filonova, a specialist in decorative and applied arts.
