A ceremonial opening of the “KAMAZ” driving school, established by the training center of the automotive giant – the International Institute of Technology, Technology and Management (MITTU), took place in Naberezhnye Chelny.
The grand opening of the “KAMAZ” driving school took place on the territory of the “Kama” business center – it is there that the cadets will study driving theory and prepare for exams. The opening ceremony was attended by the Human Resources Director of the Automobile Plant, Robert Salakhutdinov, and the Rector of MITTU, Natalia Trautwein. “For KAMAZ employees, undergoing training at a driving school under special conditions is an opportunity to develop their professional competencies and expand their career prospects. After successfully completing the driving school, they can rotate within the company to a higher-paid profession as a test driver.”, – emphasized Robert Salakhutdinov.
“The driving school ‘KAMAZ’ is an opportunity to receive quality driver training. MITTU always bases its education on practice. It is important to us that a person not only passes the exam but also feels confident behind the wheel, understands responsibility, and knows how to act safely on the road. It is especially symbolic that the driving school is opening within the KAMAZ system, where the demands on equipment, responsibility, and professionalism have always been at a high level.”, – noted Natalya Trautwein.
Both employees of the automotive giant and other city residents will be able to obtain driver’s licenses at the new driving school. Special conditions apply for Kamaz employees: there are discounts of 10%, and for their family members – 5%. There are also other benefits – priority enrollment in groups and interest-free installment plans.
Today, the driving school offers training for category “B” and “C” licenses. Future drivers of category “B” can choose training on a car with a manual or automatic transmission. Category “C” training is conducted on KAMAZ tractor units. The program is aimed at those who plan to work as drivers, are learning a new category, or want to expand their professional horizons.
The theoretical training for drivers of any category includes an in-person format (in a classroom) and a remote format (through a mobile application for additional study of the material and traffic rules tests). Practical sessions are organized at the training grounds of the Kamsky State Auto-Mechanical College named after L.B. Vasilyev and in the city traffic. The training process will take into account the work schedule of Kamaz employees so that extra training does not interfere with the work process.
In 4.5 months, the “KAMAZ” driving school will hold its first graduation of students. Currently, enrollment is underway for training programs for driver categories “B” and “C” in new groups, with classes starting in October. A new program – training for category “CE” – is also expected to open. In 2027, the driving school plans to train drivers to operate category “C” vehicles with trailers.
