The thematic tour will introduce viewers to the secrets of the amazing, ancient pastel technique and the works of a contemporary master, artist Alexander Shilov.
The uniqueness of his technique lies in the fact that the artist works with pastel on the rough surface of sandpaper, rubbing the chalk into the sharp texture with the pads of his fingers. In the example of the master’s unique canvases, one can see and feel the warmth and tenderness that distinguish works made with colored chalks. Alexander Shilov continues the traditions of working with pastel at the highest level, perfecting his mastery of the material from one work to another.
