The State University of Management intends to actively develop a network of pilot sites of the International Movement for Financial Security, including in regional universities, schools, and other educational organizations. This was announced by the rector of SUM Vladimir Stroev during the VI International Olympiad on Financial Security.
He said that such work is already actively underway: cells – centers of the International Financial Security Movement based on the digital platform “Sodruzhestvo” have already been established in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, at Sochi State University, in the Zaporizhzhia region, and in Moscow.
At the same time, preparations are underway for the opening of centers in the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, as well as in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. “We expect that these sites will start operating before the completion of the International Olympiad on Financial Security,” said the rector of the State University of Management.
According to him, educational and outreach seminars will be held at the base of such centers, teams of experts will be formed, and student and school projects will emerge. It is important that the regions not only participate in general events but also be able to propose their own initiatives and share successful experiences through the “Commonwealth” platform.
“It is especially important to talk about this with students. Young people today quickly immerse themselves in the digital environment, and it is often they who become vulnerable to new forms of fraud,” noted Vladimir Stroev. He emphasized that “our task is not just to warn about the risks, but to cultivate a conscious, responsible attitude towards financial security issues.”
It is for this purpose that the Center for the Development of the International Financial Security Movement was established at the State University of Management. The Olympiad is a very important part of the movement. However, the work of the Center is not limited only to preparing participants for Olympiads or holding individual meetings.
One of the first results of the Center’s work, established in June this year, was the development of cooperation with Chinese students. A special track of the Financial Security Olympiad for students from China was held in Chinese on the digital platform “Commonwealth.”
“This is an important practical result: it confirmed that the platform can be effectively used for international educational projects, be accessible to foreign participants, and serve as a basis for further expanding cooperation with foreign universities and students,” said the rector of GUU.
Information about the Center was presented at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, at the International Youth Festival in Yekaterinburg, at the media forum “Sodruzhestvo”, as well as at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and during the meeting of the Anti-Extremist Cooperation Group.
“We expect to build the work of the Center in close cooperation with the International Network Institute, Rosfinmonitoring, the Executive Committee of the International Financial Security Movement, partner universities, and all interested colleagues. It is important not just to announce the creation of a new platform, but to show that financial security is a topic that requires joint efforts: universities, authorities, experts, financial organizations, and, of course, the youth themselves,” concluded Vladimir Stroev.
Today, issues of financial security concern practically everyone. This includes protection against fraud, responsible financial decision-making, the ability to navigate the digital environment, and, of course, understanding that financial crimes harm not only individuals or organizations but also the economy, society, and the state as a whole.
The International Financial Security Olympiad is held with the support of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and is aimed at popularizing financial security as a way of life, as well as at forming a new type of thinking among young people: from personal financial security to the financial security of the state.
In 2026, the VI International Olympiad on Financial Security is held in Krasnoyarsk. The Olympiad includes more than 700 students and schoolchildren from 40 countries around the world. The State University of Management is represented by 4 students from the programs World Economy, Economics and Financial Management, and one student from the ‘Pre-University GUU’ school.
GUU is part of the International Network Institute in the field of AML/CFT (anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing) and regularly participates in related events. In addition, our experts take part in the development of the Concept of Financial Security of the Russian Federation.
