Participants in the discussion included Valery Belgorodsky, Rector of the A.N. Kosygin Russian State University, Ayrat Faskhutdinov, Director of the Department of Designing New Productions and Technology Modeling – Chief Designer of the Technology Center at PJSC KAMAZ, Anna Kachalina, Head of Strategic Marketing Projects at the State Corporation Rostec, Klim Pertsev, Head of Industrial Design Management at JSC Invest Project, and Cao Xiaomin, a representative of the industrial sector of the People’s Republic of China. Svetlana Minochkina, Assistant to the Managing Director for Science and Business Cooperation at the State Corporation Rostec, served as the moderator.
Participants of the session discussed how the profile of production is changing with the development of automation and robotics, what approaches are currently used in organizing the modern production environment, and how the quality of this environment affects the attractiveness of industry and the choice of profession.
Opening the discussion, Valery Belgorodsky spoke about the formation of a new image of an industrial enterprise through the eyes of the university and a future specialist.
The rector of RSU named after A.N. Kosygin paid special attention to the activities of the creative industrial design bureau, established jointly with the State Corporation “Rostec,” where competencies from various departments, professors, and students are combined to solve real production problems. He emphasized that a creative idea must take into account the real capabilities of production, and that the combination of creative thinking and engineering knowledge enables industrial prototypes to be brought to commercial implementation.
The Director of the New Production Design and Technology Modeling Department – Chief Designer of the Technology Center at PJSC KAMAZ, Ayrat Faskhutdinov, examined robotization from the perspective of a workshop designer. The speaker presented the key changes in the movement of people and materials within enterprises, ergonomics, and the arrangement of workplaces, and noted which changes in work organization employees notice first.
The Head of Strategic Marketing Projects at the State Corporation “Rostec,” Anna Kachalina, considered the real production environment as part of the company’s image for employees, partners, and customers. From the perspective of strategic marketing, the round table participants discussed how the appearance of the production affects trust in the company and interest in working there.
The head of the industrial design department at JSC “Invest Project,” Klim Pertsev, proposed a systematic approach to shaping the image of a modern enterprise — including the space, equipment, and visual solutions. Special emphasis was placed on moving from improving individual production facilities to coordinated requirements applicable to the entire enterprise as a whole, as well as the approaches used in working with industrial organizations in Moscow.
At the conclusion of the session, Cao Xiaomin, a representative of the industrial sector of the People’s Republic of China, shared experience in organizing the space of an automated enterprise in China’s industrial practice. Participants compared changes in the appearance of the workshop and in the interaction between humans and high-tech equipment, and discussed engineering solutions that could be useful for Russian enterprises.
