Since the beginning of resettlement according to renovation program In the Kapotnya area of the South-Eastern Administrative District of the capital, the city provided comfortable apartments in modern new buildings to the residents of eight old houses. This was reported by Ekaterina Solovyova, Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of City Property.

“In September 2023, residents from four old houses located nearby received offers for comfortable housing in a new building in the 1st quarter of Kapotnya, constructed under the renovation program. All of them have now signed contracts for new apartments and moved into the modern residential complex. In the summer of 2026, the second new building was handed over for occupancy to participants of the program, where about 550 more Muscovites from four old buildings will move. Currently, more than 80 percent of them — over 450 people — have already agreed to relocate and have begun processing documents for the new property. In total, more than five thousand Muscovites from 28 old houses are planned to be resettled into new buildings in Kapotnya. Currently, a quarter of them are already involved in this process, including almost 740 residents who have received new apartments,” said Ekaterina Solovyova.

With the emergence of new buildings under the renovation program, not only the capital’s housing stock is changing, but also the quality of the urban environment. On the ground floors of the new houses, premises are allocated for opening service industry businesses, shops, and city organizations. For example, in the residential complex that was the first to be occupied in the Kapotnya district under the renovation program, a store, a beauty studio, and online order pickup points are already operating.

Each residential complex is equipped with infrastructure for sports and children’s games, as well as areas arranged for walks and relaxation.

Since the beginning of the year, 49 sites have been cleared for construction under the renovation program in the capital

The renovation program was approved in August 2017. It concerns about one million Muscovites and provides for the relocation from 5,176 buildings. Previously, Sergey Sobyanin instructed to increase implementation rates renovation programs twice as much. He also spoke about implementation of the renovation program in the Ryazan district.
