The full cycle of developing technological solutions for the robotization of production systems, training personnel for industry, and solving real engineering problems will all be carried out at the new center at the State University of Management.

On September 28, as part of the strategic session on cooperation between science and business “Automation and Robotics – the Basis of Industrial Growth,” the first comprehensive engineering and intelligent robotics center for production systems in Russia was opened at GUE.

The solemn ceremony was conducted by Elena Druzhinina, Managing Director for Science and Business Cooperation at the State Corporation Rostec, and Vladimir Stroyov, Rector of the State University of Management.

Elena Druzhinina noted that the State Corporation “Rostec” will cooperate with the Center both in the framework of implementing joint projects to solve real engineering problems and in terms of training modern in-demand specialists.

Vladimir Stroev explained why a unique center for automation and robotics is being opened at our university.

“GUU has historically been an engineering and economics university and has extensive experience in training not just specialists, but professionals with engineering thinking. In the context of the need to train personnel to ensure the country’s technological leadership, GUU decided to revive these traditions and train a new generation of engineer-economists who understand industry specifics. And here our advantage lies in our century-long experience and education in cooperation with other universities,” emphasized the rector of GUU.

The director of the Engineering Project Management Center, Vladimir Filatov, spoke about the work of the new division.

The expert stated that the new center will not only develop technical solutions but also carry out their technological refinement up to the testing of the created models. In this, it will be able to rely on the university’s existing educational and scientific infrastructure, which includes the student design bureau “Innovative Solutions,” laboratories of reverse engineering, unmanned systems, CNC machines, as well as a high-performance computing complex with graphical accelerators for digital modeling and the application of artificial intelligence technologies.

Let us remind you that the CNC laboratory was established thanks to a grant from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. And today, on its basis, the State University of Management is reaching a new level of specialist training and implementation of scientific research.
